CLAY GYM: Introduction to ceramics

Learn the basics of ceramic handbuilding or work independently on your own project! Students in this course will receive basic instruction in handbuilding with clay and applying surface decoration, and will work independently on an optional prompt designed to develop creativity and clay skills. Maximum 5 students. No experience necessary.

What to expect:
Up to 25 lb of clay - more available for purchase
Black and white underglaze and clear glaze
Access to shared tools
One firing per student
4 class periods of active instruction, including a prompt, assistance on your work, and introduction to contemporary and historical ceramic arts practices
2 opportunities to come to the studio for independent work time if needed

Students are welcome to bring their own clay or glaze (cone 5 max) if desired.

Class date(s): Mon + Weds June 23 - July 2 (6/23, 6/25, 6/30, 7/2) 6-8PM
Open studio times: Saturday June 28, 3-5PM and Sunday June 29, 10AM-12PM

Studio Location: Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles

Cost: $450 per student
